Secrets to a Healthy Heart Workspace

February is filled with hearts.

So it’s only fit to share some secrets to having a healthy heart workspace. According to American Heart Association’s Statistical Update 2012, on average every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke. When considered independently from other cardiovascular diseases, stroke continues to be the third leading cause of death in the United States. Did you know Ergonomics can keep you from having a stroke?

Your carotid arteries run along the sides of your neck bringing blood to your brain.  How often have you or someone you know cradled the phone while typing on the computer?  Do this often and long enough and you have the recipe for a stroke by cutting off those arteries and not to mention straining neck.  Ergo Secret 1: Wearing a headset or using the speaker function on your phone while using the computer and talking on the phone can become a lifesaver.
